Texas governor Greg Abbott offered a bet to former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich on Tuesday on the chance that the Cowboys face Gingrich’s Packers in the NFC divisional round in two weeks.

Gingrich, a Packer stockholder, tweeted out an article about Green Bay’s recent success behind quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Abbott quoted the tweet and bet Texas brisket over the outcome should the two teams face.

Gingrich has not yet responded on Twitter.

For the two teams to face, the Detroit Lions would have to lose to the Seattle Seahawks and the Packers would have to defeat the New York Giants in the wild card round. That scenario would mean the Packers, the lowest remaining seed, would face the No. 1 seed Cowboys.

Abbott has a history of making bets on Texas teams. He bet the Oklahoma governor over the results of the Red River Rivalry in 2015, making a similar barbecue-based bet.
