Nine Days that Changed the World, hosted by Newt and Callista Gingrich, and produced by Citizens United Productions in association with Gingrich Productions and Peace River Company, has received dual honors at the 32nd Annual Telly Awards, winning a Silver Award in the category of Religion and Spirituality, and a Bronze Award in the category of History and Biography. A Silver Award is the Telly’s highest honor.

Nine Days that Changed the World explores Pope John Paul II’s historic nine-day pilgrimage to Poland in June of 1979, which created a revolution of conscience that transformed Poland and reshaped the spiritual and political landscape of the 20th Century.

This award-winning documentary examines the momentous events that moved the Polish people to renew their hearts, reclaim their courage, and free themselves from the shackles of Communism.

“Our goal in creating Nine Days that Changed the World is to share the story of Pope John Paul II’s pilgrimage to Poland in 1979 and describe how it ultimately contributed to the defeat of the Soviet Union and the liberation of millions in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Callista Gingrich, President of Gingrich Productions. “It is a true honor for our documentary to be recognized by the Telly Awards this year.”

Since 1978, the Telly Awards have honored the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video, film productions, and work created for the Internet. Last year, they received over 13,000 entries from all fifty states and five continents. The mission of the Telly Awards is to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity.
